ABOUT EMILY FLINT

VIRGINIA ARTIST

I am an artist, a mom of three young daughters, and a nature and animal lover. My paintings are usually figurative and explore themes of motherhood, mental illness, and encounters with nature. My subjects often express strong emotions, and I hope to evoke an emotional response from viewers.

My work as a figurative painter explores the surreal and magical, drawn from depths that require solitude and stillness. My creative practice exists in dynamic tension with motherhood – a role of constant connection, touch, and emotional presence. My art emerges from navigating this space between solitary creation and nurturing communion.
